Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency procured 65 floating water pumps to handle inundation
and flooding on the roads and residential areas in Jakarta. According to plan, those pumps will be prepared in sub-districts prone to flood.By procuring 65 floating pumps, it is expected to help optimizing inundation and flood handling throughout Jakarta
Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Juaini Yusuf stated, floating pump has suction capacity 50 liters water per second which equipped with hose 100 meters long and one meter wide.
He considered this floating pump is more flexible and simple because it only needs 2 people to carry it.

His side allocated budget Rp 6.5 billion to procure 65 floating pumps with price around Rp 100 million per unit.
Entering rainy season, he assessed that pump is an important tool to handle inundation and flooding in Jakarta. Currently, SDA Agency only has 2 types of pump to support flood controlling in Jakarta with total 487 stationary pump units and 160 mobile pump units.
"By procuring 65 floating pumps, it is expected to help optimizing inundation and flood handling throughout Jakarta," he mentioned.
